AUTHOR & CURATORIAL
I write about textiles, fashion, interiors, and general design/decorative arts/material culture subjects. I have written dozens of essays for Cora Ginsburg LLC, the world’s leading dealers in antique and modern textiles and fashions. I love deep-diving into archival research for my work, and synthesizing research into fashion and textile curatorial projects.
CONSULTATIONS
I advise clients on strategies for collecting, and often donating, textile and fashion items to institutions. I also source antique/vintage fabrics and garments for historic homes, interior designers, and private collectors. I specialize in modern design, but have a generalist’s expertise in material culture, anthropology, and archaeology. My passion is for advising textile and fashion designers on pattern design history, and how to bring designs inspired by (but not copying) the past to the contemporary market. I am skilled in recognizing and addressing design piracy through my decades of hands-on experience with fabrics, interiors, and fashions.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
I am a seasoned public speaker, lecturing confidently on a variety of topics related to fabrics and fashion. I have been a presenter at academic conferences and invited to speak at public programs; I have also hosted in-person (and virtual) conversations and panels in museum environments and on social media platforms.
CREATIVE MEDIA
I can create digital content for educational institutions, museums, and small businesses. I apply my experience in social media campaigns, short-form video production, public speaking, story boarding, podcasting blogging, and event planning to customize goals.
